Fiesta de Septiembre
As part of the Wickenburg Chamber of Commerce's annual Fiesta de Septiembre on the first Saturday in September, the Museum organizes the exhibition of local Hispanic family photos and family trees, contributed to the project since the early 1990s. Oral histories have also been collected, a popular part of the celebration.
Tuesday Talks
Exhibition-related art and history lectures in conjunction with the changing art and history exhibitions, speakers in this series have included art historians such as Brooks Joyner of the Joslyn Museum, Dean Porter, and Peter Hassrick and historians such as Michael Duchemin and State Historian Marshall Trimble.
Volunteer and tour-guide training
Each year, master docents and staff instruct new and returning volunteers alike in general Museum practices as well as provide in-depth tour guide training. For every special exhibition, a special training is provided for all volunteers and staff on the display, often presented by the artist or a knowledgeable art historian.
Hassayampa Lecture Series
A series of free public lectures highlighting the history of Wickenburg and the surrounding area, held once a month during the season. Speakers have included Joe Stevens on the history of the Hassayampa Nature Preserve, Pieter Burggraaf on Harqua Hala observatory, Jody Drake from Prescott's Sharlot Hall Museum on the relationship between Miss Hall and Henry Wickenburg, Julie Brooks on Hispanic settlement in the area, and Roy and Kathy Moore on early days of desert ranching.
Caballeros Art Ranch
Caballeros Art Ranch is a series of three week-long adult art workshops presented in January and February for aspiring artists from across the country. Highlighting a different medium each week, professional art instructors share their expertise with the participants in small sessions affording ample opportunity for one-on-one instruction. A sliding fee scale encourages participation by local students on a space-available basis.
Locals' Art Workshops
Locals' Art Workshops are the ultimate experience in hands-on continuing art education for participants from throughout the Northwest Valley. Multi-day art workshops feature such experienced professional artists and teachers as sculptor Cynthia Rigden, watercolorist Mark Kohler and Cowgirl Up! participant Jane Coleman.
Desert Adventure Tours
Desert Adventure Tours allow locals and visitors alike to explore the history of the Wickenburg area through mining heritage and ghost town day-long jeep tours led by Museum docents. Flower tours are accompanied by BLM Botanist John Anderson. Offered December through April, these expeditions bring local history to life. Self-driven adventures with saguaro-picking in late June/early July and Dutch oven cooking during the season are also offered.
Day trips
A day-trip is offered each fall primarily for Museum volunteers to locations such as Prescott, Verde Valley or the Phoenix cultural corridor where guided tours of exhibitions, foundries and historic locales are presented.
Western Art and History Trips
Week-long trips offered in the spring for those wishing to experience Western art and culture in other areas of the country, such as Oklahoma, New Mexico or California. These are often accompanied by art historians such as Dr. Dean Porter.
