For six weeks, visitors and museum members will be able to enjoy an interactive train exhibit that's a holiday in wonderland at the Desert Caballeros Western Museum. The holiday train display began about eight years ago, when museum trustee Gary Turner suggested putting up a small holiday train display in the Museum for the holiday season. Turner provided the trains, tracks and accessories for the "small" display. Turner enlisted the help of his friend Sam Weinschenk to assemble the display that has grown every year since. Over the years, the number of train engineers has also risen to help assemble the elaborate train exhibit and includes Sam Weinschenk, Phil Smith, Dave Wuertherle, Dave Lane and David Nelson. The exhibit would not be complete without the beautiful buildings and figurines that were donated by Museum volunteer Marcia Wright.
